Cal Poly computer science and design graduate Tanya Ravichandran, who is also a popular fashion influencer with 303k followers on Instagram, posted a reel explaining how she reconnects with her culture through clothing. In the video, Ravichandran holds up a 1997 Jean Paul Gaultier graphic top of Shiva, one of the gods worshiped in Hinduism.

Picture yourself in the midst of finals week. Most familiar study nooks — Scout Coffee, the University Union, SloDoCo — are overfilled with students. As Kennedy Library’s five floors have been closed for months, options both on and off campus dwindle in our small town. The mere thought of studying at home also feels suffocating, trapped within the confines of four walls overflowing with work. A change of scenery wouldn’t hurt.

Beneath the whimsical themed rooms of the iconic Madonna Inn, a team of four Cal Poly students armed with racks of quirky attire, top-tier cameras and expansive lighting gear embarked on a transformative journey. They aimed to capture the hotel’s essence, turning it into a youthful, fantastical realm through their camera lenses. These students were photography seniors Jordan Mazorik, Alicia Zimmerman, Miranda Kowalski and Jacob Botelho.

When kinesiology junior Luke Hansen walked into the first day of his Human Anatomy and Physiology I class (BIO 231), he expected it to be like any other science class he had taken at Cal Poly. Then, the professor began reading the syllabus. Hansen would soon be hands-deep in a human cadaver, and a few quarters later, dissecting a human neck to remove the whole head. Hansen’s interaction with the cadavers wasn’t supposed to happen until week six.
