Desborough Carnival plans are being finalised for the annual spectacular on Saturday, June 28. Organisers are gearing up to stage the annual event and there are hopes 2025’s parade will be even bigger than last year’s. Setting off at 1.30pm, the parade of colourful floats around the town’s streets and fun day on the rec with money raised will given to organisations within the town.

A Corby-based flour company has been fined £300,000 after a maintenance worker severed one of his fingers in machinery. The incident happened at ADM Milling Limited at its site in Brunel Road on Earlstrees Industrial Estate, Corby on June 28, 2023. David Wood, who was 59 at the time, had been carrying out maintenance work on a packer closing station when the 800-kilogram machine became unbalanced and tipped backwards, trapped his left hand.

Motorists requiring access to part of Kettering town centre will have to use a diversion route from Monday (June 9). A road closure will be in place on Sheep Street for up to five days to enable roof replacement works on Kettering Library and the Alfred East Art Gallery. Pedestrians will still be able to use pavements but motorists will be advised to use Market Street to access Market Place as well as West Street, Hazlewood Lane, George Street and Saunders Close.

Food and drink lovers, hungry for Thai and Caribbean flavours, will be able to get their first taste of what’s on the menu when Border-Clash restaurant and bar opens in Kettering town centre next week. Partners Aaron Thomas and Kanitta Thongbut have drawn from their different heritage backgrounds and cultures to create a menu featuring Thai and Caribbean cuisine at the eaterie in Sheep Street.
