I’m excited to welcome Michael Silver, who joins The Athletic today as an NFL Senior Writer. Michael is a prolific and multifaceted writer who spent more than a dozen years at Sports Illustrated, where he wrote more than 70 cover stories. Michael also spent multiple years at Yahoo! Sports, NFL Network and, most recently, the San Francisco Chronicle — picking up the Society of Professional Journalists’ national sports columnist of the year award in 2022 and several Emmy nominations along the way.
