Amy Wensley’s death is now being treated as a homicide thanks to new evidence uncovered by 7NEWS Spotlight and the groundbreaking 7NEWS podcast The Truth About Amy. Amy died at the age of 24 after a shotgun blast to the head in 2014 at her home in Serpentine, about an hour east of Perth. Her body was discovered by her then-partner David Simmons, who she was in the process of leaving at the time.

Following the launch of a Seven Network podcast The Truth About Amy, new details have emerged supporting evidence that despite claims by WA Police the mother of two took her own life on 26 June, 2014, Amy was actually killed by another person.
