CCTV is to be upgraded at Bideford’s Victoria Park play park after it became a target for vandals. Two cameras will replace the existing one at the play park, which received a £280,000 revamp from Torridge District Council last year. The new equipment was attacked six months after being installed, when blue masonry paint was thrown over it and surrounding surfaces. The park had to be closed for several days for a major clean-up. The attack caused an outcry on social media from parents and residents.
