Claiborne led at the half 39-23 and went on to win 75-52. Leading the way in scoring was Emma Ferguson with 18.

Teams participating included the host Bulldogs, Cumberland Gap, West Greene, Lakeway Christian, Campbell County, Scott County, Hancock County and Northview. In Monday’s opener Lakeway Christian defeated Campbell County 58-50.

The first game featured the Cumberland Gap girls versus Grainger in varsity competition. Grainger won 35-19. The second game featured the same teams but in junior varsity play. Cumberland Gap won that one 7-6.

A deep and talented Tiger squad with some postseason plans of their own had different plans. They jumped ahead early and never looked back in handing Claiborne a 55-14 loss. Claiborne kicked the ball off to start the game.

Cumberland Gap won the toss and deferred to the 2nd half so Happy Valley received the opening kick. The Warriors wasted little time in scoring the first points of the ball game, making it 6-0 after the failed extra point.
