Who was left out of tonight’s debate? To participate in tonight’s debate, Republican candidates had to have at least 40,000 unique donors and achieve at least 1-percent support in national polls. But several long-shots failed to clear those thresholds. They include talk radio host Larry Elder, businessman Perry Johnson, former US Representative Will Hurd and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, who tweeted erroneously last week that he had qualified.
