    First lady Jill Biden is coming to Florida this weekend, the White House announced. Biden is expected to arrive at Tampa International Airport close to midnight Friday night after first visiting North and South Carolina. She is scheduled to speak Saturday afternoon at a fundraiser for the Biden Victory Fund in Palm Harbor. The White House did not share the exact location of the venue. She is then expected to fly to Texas, according to the schedule released by the White House.

    Gov. Ron DeSantis was quick to decry on Tuesday a landmark decision from the Colorado Supreme Court that said former President Donald Trump was ineligible to run for president again under the U.S. Constitution’s insurrection clause. “The Left invokes ‘democracy’ to justify its use of power, even if it means abusing judicial power to remove a candidate from the ballot based on spurious legal grounds,” DeSantis, who is running against Trump for the Republican presidential nomination, wrote on X.

    U.S. Rep. George Santos, a Republican from New York, has become just the sixth member of the House to ever be ousted by his colleagues. The vote to expel the embattled lawmaker came after the release of a scathing report from the House Ethics Committee that said Santos misused campaign funds for personal benefit and found evidence that he committed crimes. The expulsion required a two-thirds majority vote; the House surpassed that, with a 311-114 vote in favor.
