I remember first hearing rumorsof the atom. We are all made upof crumbs, Q told mewhen we were kids. In those days,nature’s magic tricks were stillmysteries to us, secrets we soughtto unravel: how astronauts floatin outer space, how leaves turn from greento gold, how the sea becomes the cloudsand the clouds become the sea. Q’s mom was a scientistwho worked in a research laband conducted experiments with worms.
