    Colorado State University Spur is always the place to be on the second Saturday of the month, but the June edition will be extra special – especially if you’re looking for ways to up your kitchen herb game (and who isn’t?). The 2nd Saturday Plant Sale and Pollinator Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 14. And in addition to participating in a bunch of fun, free activities, CSU Spur visitors can also take home their very own native landscaping plants and culinary herbs.

    Starting in fall 2025, there will be another pathway for students to start their CSU education thanks to Spur Start, a program that will bring a cohort of first-year students to the University’s innovative campus just north of downtown Denver at the National Western Center.

    The Hydro lobby at the Colorado State University Spur campus has a tranquil upgrade thanks to the ingenuity of three mechanical engineering students who redesigned the workings of a prominent art installation. That installation, a kinetic water sculpture called Vessel, has been in the lobby of the water-themed Hydro building since it opened in 2023.

    Like a lot of little kids, Karen Khaykin dreamed of being an astronaut. She was also a big fan of horses and decided to rethink her career aspirations after a pretty big revelation. “I found out you can’t bring horses to space, so I decided that maybe being an astronaut wasn’t for me, and I should be a vet instead,” Khaykin said. She included this anecdote in her veterinary school essay, and while it’s a funny story, it’s just a small part of Khaykin’s journey to Colorado State University.
