Commerce Bancshares in Kansas City, Missouri, ended its mergers-and-acquisitions drought Monday by announcing plans to acquire a private bank and trust company that operates in Florida, South Carolina and Arizona. Commerce, which hasn't done a bank deal in 12 years, said in a press release that it would buy Fort Myers, Florida-based FineMark Holdings in an all-stock transaction valued at about $585 million.
