A 56-year-old man, Jayeoba Oluwafemi has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti for raping his 14 year-old step daughter. The convict was arraigned before the court presided over by Justice Adekunle Adeleye on 4th December, 2020 on one count charge bordering on rape.

Ekiti State government has concluded plans to commence the construction of another set of 110 WASH facilities across the 16 local government areas (LGAs) and 22 local council development areas (LCDAs) of the state. According to the state’s commissioner for Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Prof Mobolaji Aluko, the move is part of the government’s continued efforts to guarantee adequate provision of safe and potable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities to residents of the state.
