INTRODUCTION Most studies that have estimated the burden of cancer attributable to physical inactivity have been guided by World Cancer Research Fund/American Institute for Cancer Research risk factor grading criteria from their Third Expert Report.1 For example, the Global Burden of Disease 2019 Cancer Risk Factor Collaborators used these criteria, and estimated the cancer disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) attributable to breast and colorectal cancer around the world.

The blaze broke out on the ground and first floor of a terraced house on Napier Road in East Ham, shortly before 08:30 BST on Saturday. Parents whose baby died during pregnancy or shortly after birth believe they received worse care due to their ethnicity, a charity has said. Baby loss charity Sands spoke to bereaved parents, some of whom believed stereotyping had put them at risk. Data also shows Black and Asian babies are more likely to be stillborn or die in the neonatal period. The government has said it is committed to reducing any disparities linked to ethnicity or deprivation.

A couple who slept on their roof for 23 days to raise money for solar panels for homes on their street say they are now extending their project. Dan Edelstyn and Hilary Powell raised £113,000 last year after they braced rain, hail and snow by sleeping on the roof of their home in Lymouth Road, Walthamstow. Temperatures reached below zero most nights. Fifteen houses on the street have panels installed, the aim is for 35.

More research needs to be carried out into the pre-pregnancy health of black and Asian women to prevent higher death rates during labour, a report has concluded. The Create Health Foundation said it was a "shocking statistic" and racial disparities needed to be addressed. The government said it had plans to make maternity care more personalised. The foundation asked 300 women who have been, or tried to become, pregnant within the last 10 years what their experiences were.
