Don’t you just love Jacket Weather? The period when bigger coats are packed away and layering becomes an art form ( or at least a bit more visible than during the winter months).

If you’re in London over Easter – or coming to TNMA: LIVE! on Saturday 26 April at the Fashion and Textile Museum (FTM) – Bermondsey Street is a lovely, historic area to explore. Look up, and some of the buildings still have the hooks (on exterior walls) used to load goods.

After a meeting t’other day, I popped into Uniqlo at Coal Drops Yard. The store is quite spacious and not overcrowded, fixed prerequisites for grown-up shopping. There had been a delivery of the Comptoir de Cotonniers linen T-shirt. Slubby jersey fabric in either a round neck or V-neck-style with a dipped hem; and an array of colours, including pink, workwear blue and burgundy. Ooh, nice.

One of the greatest joys of running That’s Not My Age is connecting with so many magnificent, like-minded women— both those I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing and featuring, and the wonderful readers who spur me on. Yep, I’m always chuffed when someone comes up to tell me they’re a loyal follower.

I’m a retro-sneaker-freak at heart. This goes right back to teenage years spent kicking around in jeans and trainers, a classic style combination that’s stuck with me ever since. Now dress codes are relaxed and we’re all going high-low, sporty shoes are an everyday wardrobe staple. And, I’m happy in my comfort zone. Omnipresent and nostalgic, the Adidas SL72 is a current favourite.

If you love photography, music and style, you’ll love the latest exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. The Face Magazine: Culture Shift features more than 200 prints from the cult publication. Like many who grew up in the 1980s, my interest in style actually started with a teenage appreciation of music. Before the fashion industry, as we know it today, even existed, we had our favourite bands ( The Clash, Joy Division, Echo & the Bunnymen, Blondie) to look up to.

Nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards for her role in papal drama Conclave; Isabella Rossellini showed up in a glorious, floral coat-dress made especially for her by Dolce & Gabbana and statement jewellery loaned from Bulgari. While I was a bit underwhelmed by the movie itself (wonderful though the visual choreography is), its success brings us Rosselini on the red carpet. Where she demonstrates how to dress for a special occasion and still hang onto your style.
