1. IntroductionNewborn screening (NBS) benefits babies by detecting life-threatening or life-altering conditions before symptoms negatively impact the child, and is arguably one of the most effective public health programs [1,2,3]. Despite newborn screening being demonstrably successful in life-saving detection and intervention, persistent barriers to newborn screening knowledge remain, and are often worsened by evolving practice, policy, and social views on public health [4].
