State Sen. Leidos, General Dynamics IT, and Peraton were three of the largest Pentagon vendors awarded the Defense Logistics Agency’s J6 Enterprise Technology Services 2.0 contracts, which will run for a base term of five years with a five-year option. The Defense Department on Tuesday announced awards to 85 contractors out of 259 proposals. JETS2.0 has a maximum ceiling of $11.9 billion, and tasks will cover information technology support services.

Agencies are encouraged to plan for on-ramps to long-term contracts in the document from the Office of Management and Budget laying out ways to increase participation of small vendors in the federal procurement market. On-ramps for multiple-award contracts allow new vendors to bid on work during a contract’s period of performance.

Revenue for contractors working in Virginia neared $108 billion in fiscal 2023 and grew 19% from the year before, according to Bloomberg Government data. That rate is slower than Texas’s 22% year-over-year increase, but significantly higher than California’s 9%. Three out of every 10 unclassified contract dollars for the five-year period since fiscal 2019 went to the three states, with Maryland coming in at the fourth spot and the District of Columbia fifth.
