The Maryland Office of the Attorney General today ordered Gerald Stringer, owner of the Elkton-based Tiffin Athletic Mats to pay $314,000 in restitution and penalties for undelivered products. Back in December 2023, the business burned down and WMAR-2 News heard from a viewer that the company had been facing complaints over unfilled orders. The Final Order, issued Friday, prohibits Stringer from taking any payments from customers, unless he posts a bond with the Consumer Protection Division first.

HAMPSTEAD, Md. - Three people were flown via helicopter to Shock Trauma and another was taken by ambulance to an area hospital Friday morning following a serious crash on the Hampstead Bypass in Carroll County. Maryland State Police responded to the three-vehicle crash just before 8 a.m. Lanes are closed in both directions on the Hampstead Bypass (MD Rt. 30), north of Phillips Drive. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is assisting Maryland State Police with the response.

Anne Arundel County's Board of Education is looking to fill 15 seats on its Citizen Advisory Committee's Executive Committee. The 34-member panel gives the Board input and advice on education issues in the County. You must be an Anne Arundel County resident to apply, and the Board is looking for people to represent specific school clusters.

Back for a seventh year, Baltimore County Library is once again teaming up with nonprofit Vision to Learn to help kids in the community see better. The library system will be offering free eye exams for kids 18 and younger at branches throughout the summer and providing glasses, if needed. Last year, the program conducted 384 eye exams and provided 244 glasses to kids who needed them in the County.

Maryland's Public Service Commission issued an order to BGE on Thursday requiring that the Gas and Electric company change the way it recovers some of its supply costs. The Commission is telling BGE that they need to shift some of the supply recovery costs from customers to lower usage months.
