FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Hold on to your apps and glasses folks, because a total solar eclipse is set to move across the Lower 48 this Monday. On Monday, April 8th, the moon will be the ham in the cosmic sandwich between the Earth and Sun. Earth’s natural satellite will completely block the sun, causing a rare and historic total eclipse; a feat that hasn’t happened since March 9th, 2016.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - More information has come to light regarding Alaska Airlines Flight 1282. Last Friday, part of a Boeing 737 Max-9 aircraft blew off the plane shortly takeoff from Portland, Oregon. Flight 182 was heading to Ontario, California, when the plane de-pressurized at 16,000 feet. Reports came in saying a pressurization warning light flashed three times from December to January for the ill fated aircraft.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Light snow showers and flurries will persist over the Interior into Tuesday night according to the National Weather Service Fairbanks. Central and Eastern Interior will experience light snow showers and flurries persisting through out today. A weak system will bring light snowfall accumulations up to an inch or maybe slightly more to the East Alaska Range and Fairbanks and then into the Yukon Flats this evening through tonight.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 22 until 6 p.m. Friday, February 24 for the Middle Tanana Valley, according to the National Weather Service. Currently a weather system in the Bering Sea is bringing blizzard-like conditions to the West Coast of Alaska in the first round of heavy snow showers to impact the area.
