    OSHA’s 2024 injury and illness data provides a snapshot of the number of employees injured on the job in recent years. Connecticut experienced a jump in fatal incidents in 2024, while overall injuries declined. OSHA collects injury and illness data from certain establishments that meet specific size and industry requirements through its Injury Tracking Application. Since 2016, many employers have been required to submit summary data from OSHA Form 300A.

Heat is a recognized occupational hazard for outdoor and indoor workers that can cause serious or fatal illness when they are not provided with the necessary protection and training. Thousands of workers every year become sick from occupational heat exposure, with some resulting in fatalities. Heat is the leading cause of death among all weather-related deaths in the United States.

    Twenty five years ago this summer, The Latimer Group CEO Dean Brenner thought he’d be in crunch time training for the Olympics in Sydney, Australia. He was sailing professionally and he and his wife quit their day jobs because they thought he had a shot. While their second place Olympic selection trial finish wasn’t the outcome they’d hoped for, it led them on a journey to starting their own business, one that today is thriving, and helping other teams achieve their goals.
