HOUSTON — Hundreds of AT&T customers in the Houston area have received a text message mentioning a new area code coming to Minnesota in August 2024. Another issue besides the incorrect message being sent to Texas instead of Minnesota is the timing. The text was received by Texans in early December, but the message is dated for August. Many people were concerned about the text and marked it as spam, or thought it to be a possible scam.
