Lanark Market played host to The Clydesdale Horse Society’s Winter Fair which attracting more than 40 entries from across the country and international waters. Former society president Jim Greenhill, Forfar, was the day's judge and found his supreme in the foal champion, Hekules Texas Hold’em from Christer Paulsson. "She's a very sweet filly with silky hair, strong bones and moves very well,” said Mr Greenhill in describing his choice of champion.

Perth Foal Show staged at Netherton Equestrian Centre, saw 45 entries forward for international judge Glen Smith from Ontario. His overall in-hand champion was the two-year-old filly Cloghan Iona from Paul and Matthew Bedford, Yorkshire. Bred in Ireland by George Smyth, she is sired by Eskechraggan Ernest and out of Cloghan Princess. She was champion heavy horse at the North West and Wales Foal Show.

Some 35 entries forward for the North of Fife Foal Show saw in-hand judge, William Mitchell, Mid Lothian, select is overall champion in the foal winner, Muirton Successor from Thomas Clark and Sons, Perth. This junior colt foal by Muirton Sabre, out of Macfin Diamond Queen was reserve colt foal at both Kilmarnock Foal Show and Lanark foal Show. Reserve overall was the runner up foal champion, Collessie Princess, a senior filly foal from Ronnie Black and family, Fife.

More than 20 Clydesdales were forward for Lanark Foal Show, staged at Lanark Auction Mart, where Ronnie Black's senior filly, Collessie Princess was crowned supreme. The foal, from Ladybank, Fife, is sired by Collessie Monarch, out of Collessie Kirsty and was the pick of Newton Stewart-based judge Ian Douglas. Princess boasts a successful summer show season having stood first at Fife, West Fife, Perth and Kinross Shows and reserve at Area 12 and foal champion at Aberdeen in August.
