For a second straight election, the Proviso 209 United slate candidates performed well in the Proviso Township High School’s board of education election. The slate secured three out of the open four seats in Tuesday night’s election results. As of 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday night, Rolandra Morris, William Fisher and Ebony “Nicki” Smith earned board seats alongside Candice Ross, who ran on the 209 Student First slate.

Paul Hoefert will continue to serve the village of Mount Prospect as mayor following Tuesday night’s (April 1) win in the consolidated election against opposing candidate Trisha Chokshi. Hoefert secured the win by receiving 4,458 of the 6,798 unofficial votes cast in the election for mayor, winning by 66.72%. According to the Cook County Clerk’s Office, the election saw a 18.75% voter turnout of the 36,249 registered voters. “This feels great,” Hoefert said.
