The Maharashtra government has stepped up its regulatory inspection of the EV company by ordering regional transport offices (RTOs) to close any Ola Electric stores that are not operating with legal trade certifications. The Joint Transport Commissioner sent an email on April 16, 2025, directing RTOs to notify closures within a day and to take prompt action, including rescinding original trade certificates. However, an Ola Electric spokesperson denied the reports.

According to an SMS notification received by several Axis Bank customers, the mobile app is undergoing “a major change”, due to which it will not be available from April 18 to April 20. The private sector lender has requested the customers to redeem and transfer their funds to their mapped savings bank accounts in order to avoid any inconvenience.

With an aim to enable smooth, barrier-free flow of cars and other vehicles through toll plazas, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is planning to install these systems at select toll plazas in the country. APNR, which stands for “automatic number-plate recognition”, is a special technology that enables the detection and reading of vehicle number plates using image processing and optical character recognition (OCR).
