B2B payments fintech Mondu has raised €30m from Vereinigte Volksbank Raiffeisenbank (VVRB) as it pushes to expand across Europe in 2024. The fresh round of debt financing adds to €20m the fintech raised from the German bank back in 2022, and brings its total funding to more than €115m since it launched in October 2021.

Moneyhub has become the first third-party provider to connect to Kroo Bank, Co-op Bank and Smile Bank. The global open banking provider provides connections to thousands of institutions in the UK, with more than 150 million people accessing its technology through partners including Aon, Standard Life and SEI Investments as well as directly through its personal finance app.

Early-stage investment fund Plural, started by founders for founders, has launched a new €400m fund. The fund comes just 18 months after the investment platform launched a €250m fund with an aim to help founders in Europe gain access to investors who have first-hand experience in building companies. While more than 50 per cent of investors in the US are former founders and operators, just eight per cent of European VCs have built a company before.

Revolut is launching ‘Mobile Wallets’ to make it quicker and easier for its customers to send money abroad. The new feature will offer customers a low-friction way to make international transfers, requiring just a recipient’s ID — such as their name and either their phone number or email address — to process the payment. Mobile Wallets reduce the risk of sending money to the wrong account by removing the need for numbers and bank details, and allow users to send money “in a flash”.

The mixed-media campaign comes as part of a long-term marketing strategy underpinned by a new brand positioning and audience strategy, pointing towards the bank’s approach to building an experience that “puts people first”.
