As Canada is set to hold general elections on April 28, the race in Mount Royal— which has a large Jewish population—could be key because Liberals have held the riding since 1940.

Housefather, who is Jewish, was first elected as a municipal councilor in his early twenties and then as mayor of Côte Saint-Luc from 2005 to 2015.
