This is without doubt my favourite month of all time, but every year living in Delhi, as we do, it's a scorcher that puts my love of April to the test. There's no point complaining, as someone recently said, it's not like the weather ever gets better – summers just get worse and worse and we keep cranking up our AC's and commuting in AC cars oblivious to the impact on the climate... a vicious circle. Anyway, who wants to talk about the weather?

The Other Sister is the story of a group of urban millennials in post-pandemic Delhi that could appeal to readers of Avni Doshi's Burnt Sugar or Sally Rooney's Normal People or Intermezzo. This picture just demanded a post. It's tough to go off the beaten path and decide to do your own thing. Like, really tough. Tougher still to drown out the noise and stay focused on what you want to build. So what happens when you feel you're going the wrong way? Keep going or backtrack and re-route? I've had the joy and privilege of working on two initiatives broadly aligned around social impact.

Late last year I had to stop and take stock of some health stuff. For someone who's only too glad to use every podium available to talk Mental health and 'self-care' and prioritising ourselves, I've been like most of you... which is to say only paying lip service!I hope that changes for you even as I'm hoping to change for myself. I had to stop, take stock, get some stuff done and then wait. To rest and recover! Can you imagine. What a gift in this always-on world to be mandated time to R&R.

In her mind, it was a year of Epic Proportions, an incredible year that could have been any other year for any other child, except Maya-then-Mia was no ordinary child. She knew this thanks in no small part to Lakshman the cop. He had made it very clear to her and to the rest of the family right from the start that Maya-then-Mia was special, very special. And his favourite. That was the one thing she and Gautam Bhaiyya couldn’t discuss.
