Having spent most of her life training and competing in a male-dominated sport, Tahirah Abdul-Qadir is using her time and talent to empower other young women and girls. Abdul-Qadir, 20, is an accomplished martial arts champion, award-winning social justice advocate and rising senior at Syracuse University. She is a second-degree black belt in Shotokan karate, a member of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations’ Team USA, and a collegiate boxer for SU.
