Towards the end of 2024, The Museum of Cambridge applied for a grant to fund an exciting new exhibition called Head StArt for Cambridgeshire’s Emerging Artists. This project aimed to support three young artists from deprived areas of Cambridgeshire to create and display an original piece of work that celebrates the county’s artistic heritage. PEM were delighted to fund the project with a grant of £1500 from the PEM Charitable Trust.

This January, our ESG & Community Lead Amy Hayden and Assistant Manager Ed Frodsham were delighted to visit Maggie’s and present them with a cheque of £2000 from the PEM Charitable Trust. Maggie’s are a cancer support charity based on the grounds of Addenbrooke’s Hospital and provide practical and emotional support for people with cancer, their families, and friends.

At PEM we are fortunate enough to be given two paid days of volunteering per year, which allows us to give back to the local community. In February we volunteered at Great and Little Shelford Primary School as part of a project the PEM Charitable Trust funded with local charity Cultivating Change. In September 2024 Cultivating Change applied for a grant of £1675 from the PEM Charitable Trust to fund a wholistic planting project for a primary school in Cambridgeshire.

This December, we asked staff and partners at PEM to buy a gift for a young person in Cambridgeshire, who otherwise might not get one. Break charity support children in care and care leavers aged 7-18 across East Anglia where they provide a home environment for young people who can’t live with their own families, as well as continuing to support those who transition from these homes to living independently.
