Celebrate Cinco de Mayo early at Soaring Eagle Casino at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 3, with guest artists Siggno and Los Palominos. Siggno, a regional Mexican band from Santa Rosa, Texas, specializes in a progressive brand of Tejano music that combines conjunto with roots rock, folk, blues, R&B and regional Tex-Mex sounds. Siggno’s early 2000s hit “Por Amor” received a BMI Music Award and notched the group’s first Latin Grammy Award nominations.

The grown-ups will be crime-solving at the Art Reach murder mystery fundraiser “A Dance With Death: A Sock Hop Gone Sour,” while kids are just down the hall enjoying their own night of fun mystery. Both events run from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 2 at Mid Michigan College, 2600 S. Summerton Road, Mt. Pleasant. The adults’ evening event will include a murder mystery dinner.

The Grammy-nominated duo Black Violin, known for their innovative fusion of classical and hip-hop, will take the Wharton Center state at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Wil Baptiste and Kev Marcus met on the first day of orchestra class in 1996 at Dillard High School of the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale. Classically trained by day, they listened to rap records each night.
