In the current economic environment, we are already seeing an increase in corporate failure and associated insolvency sales. Whilst the relatively new UK Restructuring Plan is being well used, we still expect the pre-pack administration sale to maintain its status as a streamlined and expedient rescue tool.

When the pandemic hit, multigenerational living became the norm for a lot of people, myself included. A lot of us cosied up with relatives so that we could still have some human interaction and connection. Face-to-face. But before the pandemic, I’d always been a boomerang, as my mother called me, moving out and then moving back in with her in between ventures. But that’s pretty normal, right? Lots of kids bounce between their parents’ homes and elsewhere.

Getting outside in nature (or a concrete jungle, if that’s all you have), not listening to anything in my ears, and allowing myself to take in my surroundings and listen to my own thoughts grounds me like nothing else. It’s spending time with myself, getting some fresh air, away from distractions. I try to walk for at least half an hour, but most days manage an hour to ninety minutes.

You need to sit in silence and do nothing. No phone. No computer. No audio of any kind. Doing nothing is powerful, and it’s changed my relationship with myself and my work, and if there’s one thing I’m all about recommending to people recently, it’s this. So, I urge you to sit in silence, in your favourite chair, for at least ten minutes a couple of times a week and see what benefits you notice.
