Attracting more women to manufacturing roles requires an industrywide effort to change perspectives about careers in manufacturing and to encourage more students to study STEM. According to 2022 U.S. Census Bureau data, women comprised 47% of the total American workforce but just 30% of the manufacturing workforce. Only one out of four management positions are held by women. This disparity impacts the bottom line.
