Part comedy sketch show, part music gig, part theatre show, Mixtape is mixes comedy sketches, a music quiz and a great night out, or as I described it to my partner (a Mixtape virgin) it’s like Whose Line Is It Anyway meets a really great pub quiz.

Durham Cathedral is experienced in hosting these events now, as this is the artist collective Luxmuralis’ third time presenting here, and there is no doubt that the amazing building with its stunning architecture is a massive part of the experience.

    Image: L-R David Nellist, Jess JohnsonLove It If We Beat Them, written by Rob Ward and directed by Bex Bowsher kicks off the September season at Live Theatre with a warm and funny performance that also had hard-hitting moments and food for thought. The characters were engaging from the off, the writing making us laugh frequently, with lines packed full of knowing references to football, politics and being Northern (proper Northern, not like Manchester or Leeds).
