SALT LAKE CITY — College students will have to pay a little more next year at the eight public degree-granting universities across the state of Utah. But officials with the Utah System of Higher Education say it could have been much worse. The price bump is actually a near-decade low and below last year's increase. "The board met on Friday to establish tuition and fee schedules for 2026 — that’s the year beginning July 1," said Nate Talley, deputy commissioner and chief financial officer with USHE.

It was five years ago this week when Chris Larsen of Spanish Fork got COVID-19. "It was March of 2020, right in the beginning," he said. He said it didn't hit him that hard initially. But about a year later, his symptoms came on again and left him without the ability to even do simple cognition.

The Miracle of Ag Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the Utah Farm Bureau, started during the pandemic when they saw a need arise from a lack of local markets.
