    Calgary Wild FC fans filed into McMahon Stadium Sunday excited to finally see their team in action. The Wild hosting the Ottawa Rapid. There was a party in the McMahon Stadium parking lot as fans got into the spirit for this very first game. Wild FC played their first three games on the road so fans were itching to see them in person.     Mother’s Day weekend can be hard for anyone who is grieving the death of their mother. Motherless Day took place Saturday evening at the Blox Art Centre located at 834 11 Ave S.W.It was organized by Jordan Clermont; a musician who performed a song who wrote for his mom. His mother died in January 2024, and he wanted to help people through their grief. “I know how isolating it can feel even when you are going through it ,” he says.

    The Calgary Stampeders hosted more than 400 kids as part of their Jr. Stamps Camp at McMahon Stadium Saturday. The camp is for kids aged 6 to 13. About 45 of the Stampeders’ rookies put the kids through their paces with several drills on the field, which were followed by an autograph session. “We have the opportunity to get some young kids trying out football in interactive drills,” says Nick Bojda the Stampeders Director of Operations.

    Calgary firefighters battled a house fire in the Killarney/Glengarry neighbourhood late Saturday afternoon. Firefighters were called around 4:25 p.m. to the 3400 block of 37 Street SW. Roads within a couple blocks of the fire were closed for a short time to give firefighters room to fight the fire. There is no word if anyone was injured or how the fire started. More to come...
