These days, there aren't many things we can all agree on but one topic that brings us all together, Capital Boulevard needs work and the good news is the process has somewhat started. "The STIP shows you what projects we're doing and Capital Boulevard is in the draft STIP that has to get approved by the legislature. That hasn't happened yet," said Kim Deaner, NCDOT.

When Christian Edgar first arrived at Rice, his focus was singular: football. Competing in two sports wasn’t part of the plan, at least not at first. But by the spring of his freshman year, as he stood on the sidelines watching a home track meets, something shifted. “I saw that my time from high school would’ve done okay — not great, but okay,” Edgar said. “And that kind of first put the thought into my mind.” By his sophomore year, Edgar had turned that passing thought into a plan.

The Rice men’s tennis team is midway through their season, ranked No. 65 according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association with a record of 7-4. The team is back in Houston with three upcoming matches at home after spending the weekend in La Jolla, California for the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship. The Owls opened the season with a 3-0 record at home, earning wins against Prairie View A&M University and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
