KYIV (Reuters) -Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday China was supplying weapons and gunpowder to Russia, the first time he has openly accused Beijing of direct military assistance for Moscow. The Ukrainian leader said at a press conference that his government also had intelligence that China was producing weapons on Russian territory and that he would be able to provide more details next week.

ReutersNATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Tuesday and declared “unwavering” support for Ukraine in the aftermath of a deadly Russian attack in the north of the country. Rutte’s visit came two days after Russian ballistic missile strikes on the city of Sumy on Sunday killed 35 people and wounded more than 100, according to Ukrainian officials.
