By that metric, Fernanda Montiel is a couple seconds ahead of everyone before she even hits the gas. As the first Hispanic woman racer to win a Baja championship, Montiel shrugs off paddock comments to prove she not only belongs, she excels. Aside from the chatter lady racers usually endure, she’s earned a different target on her back, of sorts.

    What’s it like earning a living from the land in southeast Australia? It starts with droughts, floods, and 90-degree temps in summer, which obviously happens in December for our neighbors down under. Fun fact? They also get snow once in a while. Did we mention the invasive species? Needless to say, the farmers and ranchers of Tamworth, New South Wales, have a lot on their plate.
