First launched in 1982 by a group of artists from across the country, the exhibit aims to depict the natural beauty of the Great Plains. Since opening in 2013, the Prairie Arts Center has hosted the exhibit. This year, the artists that are included in the exhibit are J.J. Mcelroy, Charlie Bullock, Sherry Stuart.

    NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP/Gray News) - Fire officials in Nebraska say they are investigating an electrical fire that killed a family’s pets Friday morning. According to the North Platte Fire Department, firefighters responded to a home in the 2400 block of Rodeo Road around 10 a.m. North Platte Fire Department Marshall Mike McConnel said crews were able to extinguish the flames and prevent any injuries, but the family involved ended up losing their pets.

    NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A multi-vehicle crash has closed down a portion of I-80 in Lincoln County Monday morning, according to Nebraska 511. The Nebraska Department of Transportation reported just before 6:45 a.m. that the westbound lanes of I-80 from Sutherland to Paxton was closed due to the crash. NDOT, the Nebraska State Patrol and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office are rerouting traffic at the Sutherland exit to Highway 30. Drivers in the area can expect delays.

    NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -The Lincoln County Historical Museum hosted their annual corn feed Saturday afternoon. During the event, people were able to try a variety of foods including freshly pulled corn from Soderholm Farms from Holdrege, BBQ pulled pork, cole slaw and sweet watermelon. There was live entertainment from local musicians for people to enjoy.

    NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Severe storms swept through Dawson County, including the town of Cozad, causing significant damage and prompting a community-wide cleanup effort. The storms, which began Friday night and continued into early Saturday morning, brought damaging winds and hail. Businesses, homes, roads and vehicles suffered extensive damage. “When the storm came on through, it was devastating for everyone. Even people in the outside towns just looking in.
