Armada Music has signed a long-term recordings deal with UK dance artist SILK. “SILK has quickly become a leading name in the next generation of electronic music talent”, following the release of his 2022 breakout single Quiver, according to the announcement. Under this new deal, Armada Music will lead on strategy across A&R, distribution, promotion and marketing, while leveraging its global infrastructure to expand SILK’s reach beyond the UK.

Universal Music Publishing Group UK has appointed Julian Palmer as senior director, A&R and catalogue. “In his new position, Julian will act as a bridge between the core and catalogue roster, whilst sharing his expertise and instincts with the wider team,” said a statement. UMPG welcomed Palmer’s “wealth of invaluable experience and relationships”, following 12 years at Columbia Records, where he worked with acts including Katy B, Snakehips, Shift K3y, MK and Rag ‘N’ Bone Man.

Live music discovery app Dice has been acquired by Fever, the live entertainment platform. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal was announced 24 hours after Fever secured more than $100 million in funding from L Catterton and Point72 Private Investments through the completion of an equity funding process.
