(Bloomberg Opinion) -- US consumers spent big last month. But despite those dollar signs, no one should be celebrating. The value of US retail sales, not adjusted for inflation, rose 1.4% in March from the month earlier — the biggest jump in two years, Commerce Department data showed. Turning things upside down? (Bloomberg Opinion) -- Pradace is real. Prada SpA said on Thursday that it would pay just under $1.4 billion for Versace from Capri Holdings Ltd. Although collaborations are all the rage right now, this is one fashion mash-up that should have stayed in the design room. At least Prada has negotiated a more reasonable price with Capri Chief Executive Officer John Idol than the up to $1.5 billion initially mooted. But investors will still need patience.
