1 Introduction Heterotaxy syndrome is a congenital syndrome involving the incorrect placement of organs during early embryogenesis. The resulting phenotypes are heterogeneous, ranging from complete inversion without congenital malformations, to multiple congenital body localizations, and number and structural anomalies (Sutherland and Ware 2009).
