1. IntroductionInflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a chronic condition of the gastrointestinal tract, classically differentiated into Crohn’s disease (CD) or ulcerative colitis (UC) based on the location, behavior, and histopathologic characteristics. The disease can manifest in periods of flare-ups and remission, potentially leading to severe complications, diminished quality of life, and increased mortality if not adequately managed.
