WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — The Wood County Board of Elections says it will use paper pollbooks at all 27 voting locations in the county for the May 6 primary due to an issue with an electronic voter check-in device in central Ohio under investigation by Secretary of State Frank LaRose's office. Voters in Wood County should be prepared slower-normal-lines at the polls due to the slower paper process, the BOE advised.

PERRYSBURG, Ohio — The Perrysburg schools superintendent plans to recommend the district's director of student services and well-being be named the high school's next principal following the previous principal's resignation. Superintendent Tom Hosler told district families in a letter Tuesday that he will recommend Justin Fults for the role to the Perrysburg Board of Education.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo City Council approved $85,000 in funding to build new playgrounds at two parks and another $50,000 to install new bleachers at another during Tuesday's meeting. A portion of the money for the playgrounds — $30,000 — allows crews to begin work on a long-awaited playground at Yondota Park in east Toledo, which has been without one for over three decades.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Construction of a dog park in the middle of Bowling Green is on its way to completion, non-profit group Friends of BG Dog Parks announced. Members of the group visited the site at Ridge Park on Ridge Street last week to see the progress as employees of Toledo Fence tore down the fencing of the old baseball field to make room the dog park's new fencing.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Electronic music festival "TECHLEDO" is making its return to the Glass City in June to benefit a women's community that promotes outdoor activities. The festival, which has free admission, will take place at the Ribbon at Glass City Metropark on Saturday, June 21, from 3-10:30 p.m. and will raise funds for Good Natured, a membership-based community part of Metroparks Toledo, festival organizer Doug Hinebaugh said in a press release on Monday.
