    Ford has used the UK CV Show to launch its Power Promise for commercial vehicle customers, a package of benefits designed to make switching to electric vans much simpler. The programme is hoped to boost the UK’s stalling electric van take-up – registrations are currently running at around 8%, less than half of the 16% that the Government Zero-Emissions Vehicle Mandate requires by the end of 2025.

    Kia will begin its expansion into the commercial vehicle sector with an initial 50-strong dedicated dealer network. The brand’s PV5 electric light-commercial vehicle has made its debut at the CV Show in Birmingham (story here) and unveiling the new model, Kia UK President and CEO Paul Philpott said that the initial dealer network of 50 professional van centres would be expanded to 60 by the end of 2026.

    Isuzu has surprised the CV Show by revealing the first all-electric production version of its D-Max pick-up. Unveiling the new model at the Birmingham event, Isuzu UK managing director Alan Able described the new D-Max EV as the first fully-electric, fully capable pick-up available in the UK and as durable, capable and hard-working as the pick-ups the brand’s customers rely on.
