Today, the US government announced it would be imposing 25 percent tariffs on all steel and aluminum imported into the United States, a policy the administration says is “aimed at leveling the playing field for US manufacturing.” In response, Canada rolled out retaliatory measures, with 25 percent tariffs hitting imports of US steel and aluminum products as well as computers and sporting equipment, to take effect tomorrow.
