Now that I have double-digit Best Ball Mania VI drafts under my belt, I’m ready to share a team with the world. I hopped on a solo show (which you can view below) and walked through my rationale. The draft, naturally, was a bit hectic, so I’ve decided to also recap the thought process in writing form for anyone who prefers the written word (looking at you, Reddit). Last year, we were able to make it all the way to the final day of Best Ball Mania V and finish in the top 250.

We are in the thick of it now. In fact, NFL OTA training camps have already started. And, for me, best ball fantasy football drafts have started as well. How else are we going to take advantage of those early ADPs and overreact to every bit of news from practices in short? In doing these early drafts, I’ve found myself asking questions that could determine our fantasy future.

For some of us, fantasy football season has already begun. Most of my dynasty rookie drafts are already in the rearview. And now I’ve jumped into some early best ball contests on Underdog. It’s still a little too early to draft leagues that have waivers, trades, etc. But it’s never too early to start asking questions. And, boy, are there a lot of them when it comes to the fantasy football landscape in the AFC. In the early rounds, we want certainty.

We don’t blame you if you haven’t heard of FastDraft yet. It’s a fairly new platform. But it’s high time you found out about this wonderful new best ball site. There has never been a better way to create a portfolio of your favorite fantasy football sleepers and values, then firmly plant your flag on them. FastDraft drafts are quick (only 60 total players with a 20-second clock). So you get in, get your guys, and get out. There are no waivers, trades, or lineup setting, so you don’t get bogged down.

There is a bit of a misconception about the quarterback position in best ball. Especially for the big tournaments like Underdog Best Ball Mania VI. Because quarterbacks often slide in terms of ADP, folks start to think they aren’t important. But that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Drafting a quarterback early is not important - drafting the RIGHT combination of quarterbacks is.
