Staveley CofE School in Brow Lane, Staveley, was given the rating following the recent inspection on November 19 and 20, 2024. This Church of England primary school caters to 84 pupils aged 4 to 11.

According to the latest available data, there were 4,863 people in hospital with flu in the North West during the week ending January 5, representing a 27.9 per cent increase from the previous week.

Muro Lounge, in Fore Street, Hexham, ran a month-long fundraising initiative, called Lounge Aid, in December 2024 to support Tynedale Hospice at Home. The café bar hosted a series of events, including a quiz night and a cocktail-making class, to gather the funds.
