The Pakistani government is proceeding with plans to privatise PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International) and will launch a fresh expression-of-interest campaign by the end of April, a government adviser on privatisation told Reuters. At the same time, the government has conceded that it will not have privatised the airline by the July 2025 deadline set down by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

US-Bangla Airlines (BS, Dhaka) has wet leased two B737-800s from BBN Airlines Indonesia (0B, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta). The first, PK-BBH (msn 36121), ferried to Dhaka on March 31, 2025, and commenced operating for US-Bangla the following day. The second B737, PK BBG (msn 39390) is due to ferry to Bangladesh in early May. Both aircraft are configured in an 189-passenger all-economy class layout. They will operate international routes from Dhaka to the Middle East, Thailand, Maldives, and Singapore.

Lao Airlines (QV, Vientiane) has become the second non-Chinese operator to put the C909 into service. RDPL-34229 (msn 10156) entered into scheduled operations on April 12 on the Vientiane-Pakse route. To date, the only other non-Chinese operator of COMAC aircraft is TransNusa (8B, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta). "We’re excited to introduce the newest member of the Lao Airlines fleet - the C909," the Lao Airlines website declares.

Juneyao Air (HO, Shanghai Hongqiao) has deferred delivery of a B787-9 because of increased tariffs recently imposed on US imports, according to Bloomberg. The airline was expected to take delivery of the aircraft within the next few weeks. China recently imposed a 125% tariff on US-manufactured products. This followed President Donald Trump increasing the tariffs on Chinese imports to the US to 145%. Juneyao Air operates nine B787-9s, with another on order.
