Kailey Carpenter, 25, is charged with leaving the scene of a collision involving death, said Master Trooper Brandon Bolt of the S.C. Highway Patrol. She remained in the York County jail on the hit and run with death charge Friday after she was booked Friday morning, said Trent Faris, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, which runs the jail.
