Supported metal catalysts, especially the oxides supported noble metal catalysts composed of finely dispersed metal species on high-surface area materials, are the most widely used form of heterogeneous catalysts. Examples include the CeO2 supported Pt-group catalysts as three-way catalysts to purify auto emission, playing a vital role in the modern chemical industry [1], [2], [3], [4].
